September 2015 –
I decided to sign up with FamilySearch Indexing Project to give some of my time/effort to key some documents across the globe since they help me tremendously on frequent basis. I commit to contribute by indexing at least 10 records a week. I find their software easy to use and fun to browse through some documents such as wills, probates, censuses, death certificates, and etc. Wow! By doing this, it will help our genealogists and people to be able to search previously non-indexed records such as handwritten records, certificates, books, and forth on – before the records are now typed and recorded into computer system or digitized and indexed.
I learn so many new things from doing this. I encourage any of you to volunteer a couple of hours of your time per week by doing this, that’s if you are working on a family tree.
